WebJul 12, 2011 · A Truetrac has a hardened case and it is much more difficult to drill than a Detroit Locker. A good machinist will have the proper tools. FWIW- Jeep JKs use 2 differnt sized ring gear bolts. Most 2007s had 7/16" and everything never has 1/2". All other 44s use 3/8" bolts. Truetracs are dual drilled for 3/8" and 7/16".
WebJan 22, 2009 · Both a true locker and a Truetrac are full case replacements so it would be a good time to regear the axles to match the 35" tires. If you have a Dana 35 rear axle you should look at a Super 35 kit which would be a true locker and 30 spline shafts. Then for the front you could do a Truetrac.
