WebJun 22, 2024 · Posted 22nd June 2024 Pheasants bred for shooting on Exmoor I have been investigating pheasant shoot areas on Exmoor with my colleague Mark. We walked for miles in Forestry Commission public forests that are leased to shoots. I was horrified by what we found there: acre after acre of fenced off enclosures designed for rearing pheasants. WebExmoor in Devon is well-known for many famous shoots, but the 9,000-acre Castle Hill takes the top spot. It presents some of the UK’s highest pheasants, so it’s great for seasoned shots who want a challenge. With breath-taking views of steep valleys and the River Bray, Castle Hill lives up to its reputation.
